Fungal Toenail Laser Treatment

Q: AM I A CANDIDATE FOR LASER TREATMENT?

  • There are no age or health restrictions or any other limitations. In clinical studies, there have been no adverse reactions, injuries, disabilities or known side effects. Our Doctors will give you a FREE personal consultation, outlining the entire procedure.

Q: WHO DEVELOPED THE TREATMENT?

  • The PinPointe™ FootLaser technology was developed by a team of leading scientists and medical professionals working together for 20 years with funding from the National Institutes of Health. Clinical research began in November 2007 demonstrating over an 88% success rate!

Q: HOW DOES THE LASER WORK?

  • It’s specially designed to shine through your toenail and destroy only the pathogens embedded in and under your nail causing the infection. Unlike CO2 lasers of the past, the PinPointe™ FootLaser operates in a very narrow spectrum of near infrared light to help optimize safety and results.

Q: IS ONE TREATMENT ENOUGH?

  • Yes, one treatment usually kills the fungus for most patients. The laser is applied to all toenails on both feet, even the ones that appear uninfected. This reduces the chance of re-infection. Of course, there is always a chance for a reoccurrence because the pathogens that cause toenail fungus are everywhere in the environment. Our Doctors will determine if you need any follow-up care.

Q: IS THE TREATMENT SAFE?

  • For all intents and purposes, it’s like shining a flashlight on your toes. As you may know, the use of certain medications available today for the treatment of toenail fungus can have possible systemic side effects (commonly in the liver and kidney) and/or conflicts with other prescription drugs you may be taking. This laser treatment has none!

Q: IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?

  • Most patients feel no pain. Some may feel a warming sensation and very few a slight pinprick. The entire procedure usually takes less than 30 minutes. Plus, there is no recovery period. You’ll be able to walk right out afterwards. Patients should remove all nail polish and nail decorations the day before their treatment. But you can apply polish and even have a pedicure immediately following.

Q: DOES INSURANCE COVER THE TREATMENT?

  • No, because it is considered aesthetic or elective, health insurance plans do not cover the cost. We accept major credit cards, cash and personal checks or you may use your Flexible Spending Account from work, Medical IRA or Health Savings Account.

It’s that easy. In a matter of minutes, with absolutely no pain or safety concerns, you can clear up your stubborn and embarrassing toenail fungus for good.
